My new favorite web site:

Do I Have Pig Flu Dot Com

posted by admin on Apr 30

Lately I’ve been losing my posting mojo. Whenever I go out of town that part of my brain turns off and it takes a while to turn back on. I also end sentences with prepositions. My grammar coach must be horrified.

I just wanted to let everyone know your efforts at funny swine flu comments on your Facebook, gchat and twitter updates are appreciated but are starting to reach critical mass. My favorite, “Are swine flu symptoms anything like herpes? If so I think I might have it.”

I love the internet.

Decent first game, terrible second game. UNC looks very, very good but Michigan St. keeps beating teams with more talent through defense, efficient offense, timely shot making and superior coaching/preparation. I think Monday should be a helluva game.

Before the games started I parlayed Michigan St. at +4.5 with UNC at -7. Yes, I am very smart but it also explains some of my comments during the games. All times are west coast. I’ll try to include all spelling and grammar mistakes particularly as I become drunker.

1:48 PM - Thabeet needs to take the tags off his hat. Has there ever been a Final Four with a team like UCONN? With their recruiting scandal is it possible they could win it all and then have the championship stripped a few months later? Would the NCAA ever let this happen? If UCONN wins it all look for this investigation to disappear.

1:51 PM - I’m already regretting turning this on so early. Seventy minutes ’til tip-off.

1:52 PM - First beer. Sweetwater 420.

1:55 PM - How long before CBS removes that “Connecticut Blows Sparty” sign?

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

No podcast today, I am not nearly prepared enough to talk about the NIT.

NCAA - No longer am I high on Maryland. They lack the size. I have Washington beating UCONN now and making the Final Four. Michigan St. in the Midwest now. I’m sure that will all change. Pitt and UNC still in the Final Four, I just don’t see who in their regions beats either of them. Sure, someone could but it just seems more unlikely then the other regions.

Out of town starting tomorrow morning so no Lost post until next Monday or Tuesday, no podcasts and little to no posting in general especially if Wake loses in the first round b/c then I will have snapped the laptop in half.

Off to Phoenix - Land of 1000 Fertile Suns!

Last nights LOST was fantastic, the best in a few weeks. I’m sick this week but I will get a post up later today once my brain starts functioning at a reasonable level.

In case you need a last minute Valentine’s idea for that special someone: The “Finish Your Beer - There Are Sober Kinds In Africa” Thong.

What’s your reaction to taking off a girl’s pants and that’s what she’s wearing? Besides finishing your beer, of course.

I went to McDonald’s. I feel sick. It was worth it.

Wake Forest vs. Miami - 4:30 PT

Tomorrow for lunch I am eating fast food. Why? Because I haven’t in a while and it sounds unbelievably delicious.

But now I’m left with the mind-numbing problem of where do I go? And once that’s settled what do I get?

My initial inclination is a trip to McDonald’s to order a cornucopia of dollar menu goodness. Maybe, a double cheeseburger, fries, mcnuggets (with sweet & sour sauce, that is key) but that feels uninspired.

I’m also about due for my yearly trip to KFC where I relearn that eating KFC makes my stomach hurt immediately. But they do have biscuits and biscuits are amazing.

Complicating the decision is my move to the West coast. (By the way, I capitalize words whenever I damn well please, kind of like how I use comma’s.) There are all these new, never before experienced options. I keep seeing Carl’s Jr. commercials with heaping piles of meat that call out to my in a way that confirms the evolutionary imperative of eating meat. But Del Taco, El Pollo Loco, Fatburger, there’s even this Hawaiian BBQ place down the road that looks ripe with potential all could be vast halls foretold by ancient Gods filled with glorious sustenance (if processed corn mixed with low grade meat can really be called sustenance). But it’s not like I eat fast food every day (or every week) and a new place compounds the variables that will leave me disappointed.

Rumor has it somewhere in the greater Los Angeles area a Chik-fil-a exists but that feels like the kind of trip better shared with a friend. Someone who will also appreciate the search for chicken flesh breaded and dipped in boiling hot oil.

And there is this. Which, does not make things any easier.

I’m still leaning McDonald’s but Taco Bell, In-n-Out, Arby’s and someplace new are still in the running. I will update as needed.

I am absolutely disgusted by the final 12 minutes of officiating in the first half of the Wake Forest-Ga Tech game. I literally feel sick from watching this.

27 first half fouls called.

3 Technical’s none of which should have been called.

Egregious missed foul calls on clear contact while phantom no-touches or bumps on screens are immediately whistled. I see the refs are trying to take control of a physical game but they’ve become the game. Tons of contact and nothing is called but play straight up D and you’re whistled. Both of Wake’s PG’s picked up their third foul of the game on BULLSHIT technical calls. Tech had their best three-point shooter pick up two fouls on one play on a BULLSHIT technical.

This game is a joke. I hope someone from the ACC is on the phone with the officials ripping them apart.

Not a big Rick Reilly fan but thought this article was worth looking at for the picture. Clear, clear violation of the elbow rule. Now that is a bush league tournament!

Also, the best teams sink 70% of their shots? I feel like I’ve been that good before and could get there again. Dammit, I don’t need to be thinking about these kinds of things!
